The wrapped crossover necklace has a simple geometric design with intricate hand formed decoration. It’s a small and lightweight design that makes it perfect for everyday wear. Each necklace is carefully wrapped by hand, with the wire tightly bound to create the crossover pattern.

Wrapping wire is often used as an additional part in a piece of jewellery, to hold a stone in place or create a pattern. I enjoy using wrapping wire to make it the main focus in the piece, so I design my jewellery around the technique. I thought the design of my crossover studs would make a lovely, dainty, everyday necklace. I enjoyed the challenge of creating a different design that would fit nicely into the small ring and changing that design into a different format. Overlapping the wire creates a delicate detail that makes the metal look similar to a textile.
